I Survived a Global Pandemic and All I Got Was This Lousy Eviction?
Welcome to my Post-Covid narrative
Subject: POST-COVID COMMERCIAL EVICTION ON DEL PASO BOULEVARD
Thank you, Mr. or Ms. Esq. for taking the time to consider my Post-Covid commercial eviction case.
I signed a 2-year lease to rent 9,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space on Del Paso Boulevard in January 2019 after a five-alarm fire adjacent to my prior location on 16th street made that building uninhabitable.
My simple 2-year plan was to stage the space on Del Paso Boulevard with my 9,000 sq. ft. of art, furniture, antiques, and vintage clothing/collectibles to hold a giant liquidation that would take place over the course of the final weeks or months of my lease.
My intention was never to stay on Del Paso Boulevard beyond the scope of my lease as after 30+ years in the antique business, I had planned to retire from brick-and-mortar sales altogether.
Like so many residential and commercial tenants, lockdown for most of 2020 resulted in me getting behind on my rent, which I had made been making mostly successfully and consistently up until lockdown.
On or around February 27, 2021, I was served with eviction papers from my landlord.
