hmmm.

welp… after reading this piece [and valuing the insight]… when i reached the end… one of my father’s favorite phrases before our family… [me, mom & dad] were about to enter any social situation that required *good behavior*…

“Remember, good girls are seen and not heard.”

it’s taken a long time for me to not only kick that stupid phrase to the curb [not before going through all kinds of rage over not being heard, tho, so there’s that]… so it’s also taken a long time [alone. single. not even dating.] to FIGURE OUT what the heck i’m feeling since being seen but not heard can be pretty gosh darn confusing.

the solo life definitely helps me get closer to sorting it out though, as well as taking a deep-dive IN and THROUGH via therapy and 2 years enrolled [highly *urged* by my millennial therapist, so ty, gwenn]…Trauma School [cuz PTSD was another *ball of freaking feelings aka: triggers i didn’t know i had]…

so if there’s one abundantly clear [thank u!] takeaway after reading this piece is whenever the dating gates reopen, i’ll give wide berth to any generation that subscribes to that Philo and hope i eventually find an Emotionally Attractive Man.

happy Saturday, y’all, from the mid-branches :-)!
