Does the phrase Closing the barn doors after the horses have bolted sound plausible?

They've Released the Kracken and Americans who believe America the Land of the Free makes a nice bumper sticker yet aren't willing to work together are about to be dropped on their whistle-in-the-dark cotton-filled heads.

Unless we're willing to work together to salvage what's left before democracy as we knew it circles the drain, thanks in part to a flawed system by design— built on rewarding the insatiable greed of the few rather than the needs and well-being of the Whole of US.

How 'bout that old chestnut All men are created equal has yet to age well now has it?

On the other hand, It's still possible to cobble this fukking mess back together, however it's going to take the 'left/middle/and a like-minded collective' to unite and do the work... cuz hope won't win horse races or save our country.
